Your Votes on Transformers 2

I have not seen the movie, so let's hear your votes.

Josh was not impressed. Hunter enjoyed seeing the U.S. military take control.

Any other opinions?

yes, great visual effects (only trumped by 2012 disaster movie) and in a very banal sense "funny".

would I recommend it? NO.

but some film critic said that this probably won't stop you from seeing it anyways.

I actually haven't seen it yet but it looks like an entertaining movie. I was an on and off fan of the animated series from way back when, I especially liked beast wars. To me the first movie was a bit of a let down. The special effects were great but it was lacking of a good script.

I know a few people who have seen the second one and they all seemed to have been entertained while in the theater, and that's really all you can ask for from a movie. I know I plan to see it eventually, and I hope I can catch it while it's still in theaters.

I remember when Speed Racer was the cartoon-to-live movie d;jour. One critic described it as being like "having molten Starbursts poured on your eyeballs."

if you are trying to see a movie thats gonna get a academy award then transformers is not it... if you wanna see action, special effects and a great ending battle scene then transformers 2 is great.
And steven im still going in october... its not gonna be that bad but we still going.

I will be relieved if it will be more civilized.

I thought Transformers 2 rocked. The idea the there were ancient transformers on earth in prehistoric times, that left a super-weapon... I like stories with a historical (even fake historical) aspect, and I felt the story was stronger for this movie than the first.

I didn't like the action as much cause it was just hard to follow with the eye. Particularly the fight scene in the woods with Optimus and the decepticons.

It was fun, and I think right up there with Wolverine, but still no movie this summer can touch Star Trek.

It is good for the action, but I just can't seem to like a show that I always though had to do with a bunch of toys. Please enlighten me, what came first, the toys or a show?

I think Transformers was like He-Man, a cartoon that was released in conjunction with the line of toys on which it was based.

BTW, the same was true about Pokemon as well, though Pokemon was a line of Game Boy games.

Haven't seen it yet, haven't seen anything in the theaters since Watchmen. So I guess I have no vote as of yet.

Well, I grew up on Transformers, so I thought I would be more partial to it... but not so much.

The robot fights are awesome. Big robots, fighting a lot, Optimus knows his ass from a hole in the ground- all good things. Also, he has guns and swords and stuff. So robot fights are good.

Everything else- stupid, lame, or poorly written.

Especially offensive are the 'twin' autobots, built using only black stereotypes- big teeth with one gold replacement, ghetto vernacular, and the "we don't read so good" line, just to put it over the top.

But the robot fights were good!

I heard there was some controversy over the "Ghettobots," sort or reminiscent of Jar Jar Binks and the evil Asians of the Trade Federation.

ha i dont understand how ppl think its a sterotype... the transformers learned how to speak from radio waves or something else i cant remember... but in modern culuture that is how a lot of ppl talk... kinda sad but it doesnt seem unrealalistic to think that someone who never knew english would talk like that if they watched TV. I just think its hilarious that ppl say the 2 robots is racism but obama will nominate a woman for the supreme court that said any latina women could make better decisons then white men... gotta love this world

if anything, I liked 2 more then the first one. lot more screen time for the autobots and decepticons. Had i the money, i'd have seen it a second time. Jetfire and Wheelie were the funniest of the new transformers

whatever happened to taking a joke?

I'd kinda like to see it, but im not to sure. I loved the first movie though-great story.

Personally, I wanted Jar Jar Binks for the Supreme Court. As we learned from Episode 3, he has experience in government having served in the Senate.

Of course he did make that crack about "Me's a thinks more white folks beez a bombad judges compared to Gungans."

I liked the first one well enough for a Michael Bay film... this one made me angry. I felt like I wasted almost 3 hours of my life. I never got to see Star Trek in the theaters. I finally got a chance to go see a movie with a friend and I just had to see this one. I feel ripped off- like Michael Bay owes me something now since I went and watched his crappy movie.
