I know most of you Sad Sammers disagree with me when it comes to audio books. (Oh you purists who insist on actually reading your books, rather than have them read to you, how can you ever hope to read and drive at the same time?) Anyway, I have started a new blog called "Audio Book Jungle."
Yes, I have been beefing it up with daily posts, but do not feel slighted my Sad Sam's friends. I am mostly transferring and updating The Jungle to build up a library of reviews.

I'm more of a purist at heart....
I do have a few Warhammer 40k audio books that I have listened to, but I don't seek out audio books if there is a print version available.
I've recently come to love audio books. The Dresden Files imparticular are great, read by James Marsters (Spike fom Buffy). After reading a book I think to myself, "what would it sound like?" it's too bad they're so expensive. Who would you like to read your books Steven? (they're not available in audio are they? I looked.)
The late Frank Muller remains my all-time favorite narrator. I dedicated Rogue Clone to him. When I write Wayson Harris novels, I try to imagine him reading them back to me. After Frank Muller, there are many I would take. I want someone with a rugged voice, which certainly includes James Marsters. Jonathan Davis could do a great job.
@Aaron, are those 40K audio books worth the dough? I heard they're only about a half an hour to forty minutes long each. I've considered checking them out because audio book is the only format they come in but I just can't justify the price tag.
@Steven, as far as audio books go you should really check out Monster Hunter International by Larry Correia and give it a go. Apparently the disembodied voice reading to you does really well.
Oh and if I ever wrote a book I'd want Adam West to do the audio version >:P
Adam West has a great, rich voice. I do not know if he has ever narrated an audio boom--though he may have done some autobiographical ones about his days as Batman.
Some of the Monster Hunter books are available from Audible.com. The narrator is Oliver Wyman. I am not familiar with his reading. Sounds like something I should check out!
I love Audio Books - I have the entire Sharpe series and Aubrey/Maturin series. Patrick Tull is (was) an amazing reader!
See guys, some of you have indulged!
Nick, the 40k audio books are a bit pricy. On average, they are 60-70 minutes in length. I only got them in audio book format because they're not available in print format. I've managed to track down every 40k book written (with the exception of the limited edition items that only sold 3,000 or less copies), and felt the need to pick up the audio books too. So I'm kind of a nerd that way.
@Aaron, I have a good many of the 40K books as well. I used to have more but I leant out so many to my friends that I'm short a good portion of my library. I didn't buy Kyme's limited edition HH novella but I think I will be ordering Dembski-Bowden's. I can stomach spending 50$ on ADB a bit easier than I can on Kyme.
I have to say I've only ever listened to one audio book (outside of those times in school the teacher would play for some unapparent reason). The book was World War Z of which I am a huge fan (but of course it was abridged so that almost ruined it). Do you think they'll ever do audio books out of the clone books?
Glenn, in truth... not a chance, I am afraid.
Since I commute quite a ways and have two little boys at home, audio books are fantastic for me. I still have a solid purchasing habit at the local B&N for paperbacks, but I don't believe in this purist nonsense. I believe in getting to the story any way that is available to you. And honestly some authors are better in audio
